Chia seeds are the new big thing. You wan't to get more energy and go on for hours? You like desserts that you even can eat in the morning? Then this chia seeds pudding is for you.
Superfoods it is the latest discovery in the nutrition industry. They are calling superfoods because they got possitive effects on the body and mind.
Superfoods are in many forms, for instant: acai berry, goji berry, hennep seeds etc. But now I going to give you a recipe for chia seeds.

What are chia seeds?

Chia seeds are seeds from the Salvia hispanica and are related to the Mint plant. The name Chia is from the Nahua word chian that means oily.The Nahua are an Mexican tribe related to the Aztecs.

Why are chia seeds good for you?

Originally they are used for survival ration by soldiers. But for now a days use the chia seeds are rich in:
-Omega -3 fatty acids. They are improving the brain, reduce cholesterol, build up the immune system and lowers the risk for cardiovascular disease.
-High in Fibre. That is good for your bowel movement and are good for cutting weight. Because the food intake is very slow and you will feel full for a longer time.
-Antioxidants that are good for your skin and lowers the risk of diseases like Alzheimer and   Parkinson
-Proteins. They are good for recovering the body and perfect for athletes.

How I know about chia seeds pudding?

I got this chia seeds pudding recipe from a friend of mine Stefanie who put on instagram. And I am a big fan of desserts so I just give it a try and I was sold. And desserts are not the type of food that you eat to get healthy, but chia seeds pudding is. I eat this when I go snowboarding so I can go for hours not feeling hungry. I even saw Kelly Slater 1 of the best surfers in the world posting his chia seeds pudding on his instagram. And the guy is around 40 and still ripping like a 20 year old. So it must by good.

How to  make the chia seeds coco choco almond pudding.

1 bowl of  chia seeds coco choco almond pudding.
Ingredients:
  • 250 ml or 1 1/3 cup Cocos Rice Milk (you can use also normal rice milk/soy milk/almond milk) (and put a table spoon of shredded coconut)
  •  65 ml chia seeds
  • 4 teaspoons raw cacao powder (more or less, I like it chocolate)
  •  handful of raw almonds
  •  cereal bowl/dessert cup to put the chia seeds pudding in. chia seeds coco choco almond pudding ingredients

Directions:
  1. Put the coco rice milk in the cereal bowl and stir the chia seeds in it. Stir the chia seeds till it is blended with the coco rice milk, you can see it when the chia seeds are all soaked in the coco rice milk.chia seeds coco choco almond pudding milk
  2. Put in the cacao powder and stir it again till all the cacao powder is nicely blend with the milk. Let it stand for 15 minutes and stir it again. Now all the chia seeds are binding whit each other and it start to getting a little thicker and looks like apudding. Leave it there for another 15 minutes.chia seeds coco choco almond pudding cacao
  3. When it is a real pudding you can throw the almonds on top and than you got your chia seeds coco choco almond pudding.chia seeds coco choco almond pudding almonds
You can eat the chia seeds pudding every time of the day. I normally eat after a good day of shredding/training. But you can eat also before training and take it like a pre workout meal. You can save it closed for a few days in the fridge.
You can play around with this recipe if you want. For example:
  • Use cashew, hazelnut any other nut instead of almonds
  • Use goji berry's, hennep seeds for extra topping.
  • Use soy milk, rice milk, almond/hazelnut milk for coco rice milk.chia seeds coco choco almond pudding
